Anchoring Points:
1. The Redwood Sisterhood is dedicated to pulling together experienced women professionals who are of a like mind to encourage personal and professional growth through learning, and openly sharing with a mix of social fun in the process – making room for and inspiring even greater accomplishments of the next generation.
2. As large and powerful as the redwood trees are, their roots are only six inches deep, thus only through intertwining do these majestic forests stand.
3. I had been an organizational development professional inside and outside of organizations, predominantly non-profits collaborating in multi-organizational community planning, and was ready for the next big challenge – to become part of other women’s stories, and touch their lives in a much deeper way.
4. We are a virtual, on-line, web-enabled community that plays to women’s multi-tasking abilities and preferences to learn. We will generate 80 audio products a year to offer members. Services include:
· Tele-classes from search engine optimization and business marketing to personal development and resume writing
· Peer coaching calls to work on members’ specific challenges
· Book Nugget summaries
· Regional-based breakfasts and ladies’ nights out
· Stay tuned: Blog Talk Radio LA101, Retreats
5. Our members include those who are anxious to learn and get through mental blocks fears of the time, to “Big Sisters” who share their experiences and encouragement freely. A new corporate member program is under development to tap our roots into established communities.
6. As our journey continues, one cannot underestimate the techno-phobia of the older generations; something young people have no hesitations to embrace. Our “Big Sisters” learn from our “Little Sisters.”
Starting the Redwood Sisterhood has force me (by design!) to step outside of my known grooves and successful patterns to be more challenged and fulfilled than ever before. As the Sisterhood grows, so will
