Beginning 2013 with Completions: Completion of a project, accomplishing a goal, or finishing a task all have the possibility of satisfaction connected to them.  What is important to focus on is the experience that accompanies it, both the doing and the being.  Although completion might signify an ending, it also encompasses the possibility of new beginnings, in particular if you are passing on your work to someone else to add to or carry it forward, which requires trust in them, as well as that you have done enough, or been enough.

Trust in the Wisdom of the Heart: In anticipation of the debut of her first book in March, Diane shares the journey of trusting in marrying the head and the heart.  She has moved a very personal journal of daily reflections into an inviting companion for others to rely upon to create an expansive life of possibility.  It was Diane’s intention to create a conversation between herself and whoever chooses to pick up the book, as well as be an invitation for internal conversation.  The very conversation she had to create the book in the first place!  Stay tuned for the debut of Heart Wisdom: A Concise Companion for Creating a Life of Possibility.

A Concise Companion for Creating a Life of Possibility:  Heart Wisdom poses questions to the reader as a way to explore their own experiences and beliefs to begin or expand a journey of discovery.  Diane’s innovative approach includes colorful illustrations by Tucson artist Allan Mardon, poetry by Diane’s son, Seth, and QR-code access to guided mediations.  The seven sections are: The Beginning, Identifying Your Starting Point, Creating an Opening, Releasing and Letting Go, Shifting to Something New, The Invitation, and Greater Knowing of Where You Are Now.

Riding the Wave of Success:  In order to be truly successful in our endeavors, we need to adopt a willingness to be vulnerable.  This involves being willing to shift, to fall down, to be visible, to challenge old beliefs, to release judgments and to be open to learning something new.  Be prepared to be uncomfortable.  We also have to be committed to completion and to do “it” better or differently the next time. There is a sense of discovery that accompanies anything holding the possibility of expansion, particularly if we balance being bold with willingness and patience. Trust that there is plenty of time and energy for the opportunities coming around the corner.

Allowing Your Story to Unfold and Expand: When facing a dramatic change in our lives, we can be filled with doubt, struggle and exhaustion.  The first order of business is rest, enabling an unwinding as we shift from one part of our story to another.  We owe it to ourselves to reground, take time to regroup and reconnect to ourselves.  Dream again before we can move into something else.  This time is a valuable investment in our future and can provide clarity and renewed energy with greater ease and less struggle.  It helps remind us of who we really are and refocuses us on what we are wanting.

Moving Forward When You Don’t Know Where You Are Going:  So often we find ourselves in a dilemma.  We may be comfortable where we are, yet at the same time we know that there is so much more.  The first thing to do to determine when you are ready to take a step is to practice self-acceptance.  Here I am, and I feel … (fill in the blank.) When change begins to occur, it usually starts from inside of us.  The unwinding allows us to get clarity, although it sometimes causes discomfort or pain.  Each circumstance, each challenge, offers us an opportunity to learn something new and to DISCOVER some part of ourselves that has been dormant, waiting to be revealed.

Tips and Tricks to Make Aligned Decisions: No matter what the arena – personal, family, professional, health, financial –we are many times challenged to move forward in response to something outside of ourselves.  We should consider not just the practical aspects of decision making, our tolerance for risk, and the impact on those around us, but the way a decision feels internally. Part of making aligned decisions calls for creating awareness and acceptance of our own decision making style, tapping into what our head, heart, body (the energy around us) and spiritual core values lead us to do.  Rather than focus on what is not working, shift to what is and how you can make more of it.

Become the Author of Your Own Story: Our story is more than a compilation of events and decisions.  It is multi-layered and rich with our feelings as well as the beliefs, practices and habits that shape who we are and the decisions that we make.  As we practice living in ways that are easier and more expansive, being willing to be more vulnerable, practicing self-acceptance, and being accountable are three very important elements to creating more of what we want.  It is important to remember that you are authoring your own story every day.  There is no separation between you and the life you are creating, except through the thoughts that you may be thinking.

Taking Time to Unplug:  Isn’t it shocking that even when we travel someplace in which we would expect to be able to unplug, we hear cell phones ringing?  We have become so connected to our devices that we risk our relationships getting the short end of the stick.  We use social media to fell connected, rather than social conversation.  Many have forgotten how to have eye contact, to discuss, and to engage, resulting in an emptiness that could be leading our souls to search for something deeper. As we move into autumn, we experience shorter days and cooler temperatures. This is a perfect time allow a greater awareness of the need to rest, unplug, and recalibrate.

When is Enough, Enough?:  How often we find ourselves in a situation either at work or in our personal lives in which we feel we are ready to call “uncle.”  Creating a ritual by taking a break (and a fresh breath) will help us stay anchored in what you are good at.  This can help us let go when we have learned what we need to learn from a situation, in order to move forward and create something less organized around struggle, more organized around ease.  So many people are accommodated to being less than they can be, because they do not believe they are enough.  Creating a more expanded view of ourselves results in attracting and opening new possibilities.

Getting the Wake-Up Call of Change:  Change is an important and vital requirement for personal growth.  It is often a wake-up call first in whispers or a gentle nudge, signaling that something is afoot and we need to pay attention.  The gap between the first signal and the actual screaming in our ears to take action can vary from person to person – as is how much time we then spend convincing ourselves to give the situation more time or we focus on something external in order to override or rationalize away our intuitive knowing.  Opportunity is a door right there for us to walk through, not stand and ponder or avoid.
